Roasted hazelnut, without the syrup bottle. Hazelnut is the flavour instant coffee gets most wrong. Heat-dried powders bake the nut oils until all that survives is a flat, candied sweetness. BCASU Hazelnut starts from the other end: we brew 100% single-origin Arabica, blend in natural roasted-hazelnut extract while the liquor is still cold, then freeze the whole thing solid at our -50°C sublimation threshold. Under vacuum the ice lifts away as vapour and the nut aromatics stay sealed inside the crystal. What you get in the cup is praline rather than perfume — warm, buttery, faintly toasted, sitting underneath the coffee instead of painted on top. It is particularly good with milk, where the hazelnut reads almost like a cafe nocciola. No sugar is added. The sweetness you taste is aromatic, not caloric.

How to prepare
Add 1 teaspoon (adjust to taste) to your cup. Pour over hot water or milk and stir. For an iced hazelnut latte, dissolve in a splash of warm water first, then pour over ice and top with cold milk.
Storage
Keep the jar tightly closed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Use a dry spoon — freeze-dried crystals are hygroscopic and will clump if moisture gets in.
